Watch Saro's Masterful Pop-Noir in New Live Video

The masterful pop-noir that SARO creates takes you on a genre-bending journey that cuts deep to the heart but is simultaneously elegant and alluring. His latest single "Please" premiered via Paper Magazine and was featured onSpotify's New Music Friday. Today, he releases a live, stripped down version of the track, in advance of his performance tonight (Monday, November 19) in Los Angeles at School Night. Watch "Please (Live Session)" HERE.

Saro's past releases from the Mateo Sound label--In Loving Memory and Boy Afraid--introduced us to his signature, soaring falsetto, riding atop brooding synths and unique instrumentation going from downtempo alt-R&B to electronic, orchestral works that strike a gracefully, cinematic tone. The Los Angeles-based artist is back at the piano, fine-tuning lush tapestries and vivid storytelling to set the tone for his next EP, set for release in early 2019.

"Please" is the first taste of the new music and Saro told Paper, "'Please' is a reflection of my search for something lasting in this increasingly disposable world. The past few years, I've kept a distance between myself and any sort of permanence, caught in a revolving door of temporary homes and temporary people. Temporary has become my constant-the only stability in my life has been music. Now, I find myself reckoning with my growing desire for stability and my willingness to exchange volatility for something more concrete. I wrote this song about longing for something lasting, all the while knowing that nothing is forever." Hear the track with "meditative electronic beats and sultry vocals (Paper)" here: https://AWAL.lnk.to/Please.

The visuals accompanying his music--including "Sky Doesn't Blue" and "Boy Afraid"--are co-directed by Saro, and paint a beautiful yet dark picture that is an ethereal, strong, quiet presence on the brink of chaos. Saro's live show is also a powerful experience, where he channels his deeply affecting electronic pop in a convergence with unique movement and physicality that touches on performance art.
