VIDEO: Shawn Mendes Teases His New Version of 'Stitches' For MTV Unplugged

MTV Unplugged is making its return tonight (September 8) with Shawn Mendes being the first musical guest. The 19 year old will be performing a unique cover of a song and a very special version of his hit 'Stitches.'

The unplugged performance is a return to his roots. The singer/songwriter got his start by uploading acoustic cover songs on the now extinct social media site Vine. When he was asked if he has grown musically, he replied that he's changed in "every way."

Mendes also admitted that 'Stitches' is his hardest song to perform live because of the weight behind it. He revealed that it's going to be himself on the piano and his guitar player backing him up.
