Paris-based duo Agar Agar -- Clara Cappagli and Armand Bultheel -- have revealed their new single "Fangs Out" today via French indie label Cracki Records. Last year, they shared debut singles "Prettiest Virgin"and "I'm That Guy." The pair recently announced their first North American tour dates, set to kick off on March 7th with a sold out show in Montreal. Tickets available here.

"Fangs Out" is accompanied by a video that plunges the viewers into a nocturnal outing alongside actress Garance Marillier, who was nominated for "Best Female Newcomer" at the 2018 César Awards (equivalent to French Oscars) for her performance in "Grave". Directed by William Laboury, the tale of "Fangs Out" sits somewhere between a virtual world and reality. Wandering through two worlds on a long summer's night, the adventurous crossing leaves us in the early hours of the morning with this new, complex and powerful single set to a modern fantasy backdrop.

Clara and Armand produced their first tracks in Paris, for the retirement of their art school's librarian, thus beginning the collaboration which brought them to post a few recordings on Soundcloud, including their debut single "Prettiest Virgin" in April 2016. They remained shrouded in mystery for the release of their first EP Cardan which came out in September 2017. Rougher than their single, the silky and roaring voice of Clara perfectly matches Armand's drum machine and their 90's synths. Coupled with hammering acid basslines, the tandem deliver an "early warp" sound between Daniel Malaso, Black Devil Disco & Ariel Pink. Influenced equally by pop and techno, Agar Agar are elegantly nonchalant with music as sincere and radial as it is uncompromising.
