Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock musical JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will kick off a 50-city, North American arena tour on June 9th in New Orleans. The production will star Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd, Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams and N'Sync's JC Chasez.

Boyd and Williams appeared on this morning's Good Morning America to announce the news. "It's completely new, and it's incredible," said Boyd, who will play the role of Judas. "It's an arena rock show."

The duo went on to perform "Superstar" from the musical. Check out the performance below!

Jesus Christ Superstar first came to major theatres when it debuted on Broadway in October 1971 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre in New York. The Broadway production ran for 720 performances, closing two years later and Andrew Lloyd Webber won the prestigious Drama Desk Award as Most Promising Composer for Jesus Christ Superstar in 1972.

Less than 12 months after the Broadway show opened, the rock spectacle came to London, exploding onto the West End at the Palace Theatre in August 1972 in a hugely successful production directed by Jim Sharman and starring Paul Nicholas singing the part of Jesus.
