By: Caryn Robbins
The FADER and YouTube Music released a compelling short documentary on breakout singer-songwriter gnash called homegrown. This project is part of YouTube's larger collaboration with gnash and partnership with The Fader to create a unique campaign that gives fans the opportunity to discover not only gnash's music, but also more about who he is as an artist.

I just want to help people with how they feel," says artist Garrett Nash aka gnash, who became a global sensation with his multi-platinum hit "i hate u, i love u (feat. olivia o'brien)" this past year. In the documentary homegrown, we head to gnash's home that he shares with his family in Los Angeles for a close glimpse into his personal life and what motivates him to create his emotional music. Released just ahead of his upcoming world tour in March, the short film includes commentary from gnash's friends and collaborators, Grammy-nominated record producer Cisco Adler, and family who speak about gnash's sudden rise to fame after graduating high school, connecting to emotions through music, and the importance of home, family, and open, sincere communication. In the doc, gnash performs his track "home" and speaks about the financial hardship that ultimately led to gnash buying the family home from his parents.
