Pop singer, songwriter and musician TODD CAREY is back with his new single "Nintendo" out today (9/30). "Nintendo," an infectious modern love song with throwback lyrics--name checking Captain Crunch, Battleship, and shoes with pumps, marks the first single off CAREY's forthcoming full-length album FUTURE THROWBACK, to be released early 2014 on Blaster Records. CAREY recently shot a music video for the track in downtown Los Angeles, set to debut later in October.
CAREY is also gearing up to hit the road for the '8 Bit Heartbeat' U.S. tour alongside Curtis Peoples. CAREY will kick off the tour Saturday, October 19, performing as the sole headliner in Atlanta, Nashville and Raleigh, NC before linking up with Peoples on October 24 for the remainder of the tour. The two will hit up CAREY's current hometown of New York City on Monday, October 28 and wrap up in his childhood hometown of Chicago, IL on Saturday, November 9. All tour dates are listed below. TODD set out to make a career-defining album with FUTURE THROWBACK. His quest spanned three years, tracking in four states, shelving three records and feverishly writing 70 songs. The outcome is a euphoric pop record that's playfully irreverent and brimming with sleek urban beats and swaggering pop hooks. "Nintendo" is the invitation to the party. On it, TODD flows sugary rhymes and, with 1980s retro whimsy, name checks Captain Crunch, Battleship, and shoes with pumps. "We wanted to keep things sexy with the grooves and beats and fun with those throwback lyrics," he says of the tune's intent. "Those references, mixed with the modern sensibility of the track, create a really cool modern/retro juxtaposition that lives throughout the record.""Nintendo" is available now at iTunes: http://smarturl.it/tc_nintendo
