Tape Hiss and Sparkle in action

Lo-fi folk act Tape Hiss and Sparkle will return to the Alexander Upstairs this August with a 60-minute set. The band features Simon Tamblyn on guitar and vocals, Mandisi Nkomo on drums, Helen Westcott on bass and Catherine Schenck on cello.

New lo-fi, off-beat, alternative folk music, imbued with Tape Hiss and Sparkle's good kind of sadness and coupled with "punfully" bad jokes to which nobody should have to listen, will be top of the bill in this late autumn concert.

Tape Hiss and Sparkle will perform on 25 August at 20:00. Tickets are available from the Alexander Bar website, with tickets costing R120 if booked and prepaid online or R140 if paid on collection at the bar. For telephone enquiries, call 021 300 1652. The Alexander Bar, Café and Theatre is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
