The stage is set for Starbucks 19th Annual Hot Java Cool Jazz to once again delight Seattle-area jazz fans as the region's top young musicians come together for a special show at the Paramount Theatre. Proceeds from the night's performances benefit the music programs of the participating schools which this year includes: Ballard, Bothell, Garfield, Mountlake Terrace, and Roosevelt. The show will be held on Friday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. Since its inception in 1995, Starbucks Hot Java Cool Jazz has raised more than $350,000 for participating schools' music programs.

"Hot Java Cool Jazz is a celebration of rising young talent and great jazz in our hometown," said Rodney Hines, director of Community Investments for Starbucks. "With the passion and support of the community, Hot Java Cool Jazz has helped inspire and engage our youth."

The critically needed funds raised through Hot Java Cool Jazz help the bands cover competition, equipment and travel costs. Total ticket sales are split among the performing bands. Last year's event raised over $54,000 for local programs. In addition to Hot Java Cool Jazz, Starbucks supports local arts education through Seattle Theatre Group's More Music at the Moore and Dance This; and the new fan favorite Little Big Show at the Neptune Theatre.

Last year's show sold out, so fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance at the Paramount Theatre box office, online at www.STGpresents.org or surcharge-free at select Starbucks stores, listed below, for $20 (all ages). Proceeds from tickets sold at the Starbucks store closest to each school will go to that school's music program.
