World Music Institute and Kings Theatre have announced "A Special Evening with Snarky Puppy & Friends," on April 18, 2024, at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY. Reminiscent of their acclaimed “Family Dinner” series, this unique performance will bring together the 5x Grammy-winning band Snarky Puppy and three outstanding singers from the Spanish-speaking world: Susana Baca from Peru, Silvana Estrada from Mexico, and Silvia Pérez Cruz from Spain. The evening promises an exceptional musical experience, featuring music by all three women arranged by and performed with Snarky Puppy.

With a decade of relentless touring and Grammy awards spanning various genres, Snarky Puppy defies easy classification. This dynamic collective, with up to 20 rotating members, represents the convergence of both black and white American music culture with various accents from around the world. Susana Baca, born in Lima and raised in the Afro-Peruvian enclave of Chorrillos, pays homage to Chabuca Granda in her latest EP, "Seis Poemas." Granda, a trailblazer in bridging cultural divides, mentored Baca, fostering a deep connection to Afro-Peruvian culture. Baca's journey, from poverty to international acclaim, encompasses a commitment to preserving her heritage.
