Written in windowless 10x10 rooms from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, fueled by hangovers, coffee, and cigarettes, Pink Mexico is ready to unleash their Burger Records debut LP, fool, to the world. The fuzz-laden first single, "Buzz Kill," is a perfect lead in to Robert Preston's style of self-depreciating deadpan lyricism paired with fast-paced garage-punk riffs. Ending on a slower, sludgier note, "Buzzkill" introduces Pink Mexico as a peer to current top-tier garage-fuzz acts such as Fuzz, Wavves, or Thee Oh Sees. "Buzz Kill" is currently streaming via BrooklynVegan.

After playing drums for countless other bands, including Shilpa Ray, Robert Preston went for a change and began his solo project, Pink Mexico. After moving from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, Preston self-released the first Pink Mexico LP, pnik mxeico, in June of 2013, attracting the attention of Austin-based record label Fleeting Youth Records, who then re-released pnik mxeico the following December.

Preston relocated to Brooklyn in the fall of 2014 to begin recording his next album while continuing other releases: a split 7" with Los Angeles-based band, SunLikeDrugs as well as a 12" vinyl pressing of pnik mxeico by Bordeaux, France based label Big Tomato Records. The underground buzz surrounding the first LP led Preston into the Burger Records family. Following countless Brooklyn shows and making the rounds at this year's SXSW, Pink Mexico has grown as a band, yet kept it rough around the edges: the perfect blend for a sophomore LP.

fool will be released on June 24 via Burger Records in the US and Big Tomato Records in Europe, followed by a hometown release show at Shea Stadium on June 25 with support from fellow local bands Sharkmuffin, IYEZ, and Chillemi. Pink Mexico is also supported by Archie's Pizza in Brooklyn. A full fall tour in support of the album will be announced.
