Outside Lands Works Grant Beneficiaries Receive $420,000 in Community Funding

Today, Outside Lands announced details of the grant recipients for Outside Lands Works (OLW), its charitable program that invests in the cultural vitality of the Bay Area through grants and support to regional music and arts education programs.

Outside Lands Works donated a total of $420,000 to the following nonprofit organizations:

"Outside Lands Works is an expansion of the festivals commitment to support the Bay Area, by partnering with nonprofits who share our passion for enriching the community through music and arts," said Laura Wainer, Director of OLW. "We have great respect for the work of our partnering organizations, and as a growing philanthropic program, we're excited to continue building relationships and supporting the Bay Area nonprofit community."

OLW is also thrilled to announce a new partnership with the annual eventFlower Piano in San Francisco Botanical Garden. From July 11- 22, twelve pianos will be tucked among the many flower-filled gardens within San Francisco Botanical Garden, located in Golden Gate Park. OLW is proud to be a sponsor of music, community, and nature joining forces once again in the heart of the city during the twelve-day, outdoor extravaganza known as Flower Piano.

OUR VISION

Outside Lands Works believes that music and the arts are essential to a healthy, thriving society. OLW invests in the unparalleled cultural legacy of the San Francisco Bay Area by supporting music and arts programs that empower people to mine their imaginations, develop creative confidence and discover new ways of seeing and understanding our world. Ensuring that the next generation of young people and residents of underserved communities have equal access to music and the arts is especially critical. OLW and its supporters recognize that the contributions artists make to their communities and to our culture are vitally important and presently under-supported; over time, we hope to help bridge the gap left by declining arts funding and arts education in schools through sustained investments in the many diverse creative neighborhoods and communities that make up the unrivaled Bay Area.
