NYC DJ/Producer Druu Releases 'Sunsets' on Druu Music

Vibrant. Sublime. Intoxicating. Like the rays of a crimson sun as it escapes beyond the horizon, Druu's latest endeavor is a sensation sure to color many cherished moments. After making waves in the EDM world this year with a series of definitive releases, the NYC DJ/producer raises the bar once again before 2017 draws to a close. Druu's "Sunsets" (Druu Music) is out now.

Although a contrast between effervescent synths and reverberant piano chords instills a relaxing ambience at the outset of the song, "Sunsets" quickly works its way towards a danceable euphoria. A palpable longing emanates from the loudspeakers as a male vocal rings out. Soon after, the track is engulfed by a surge of layered melody that crashes and crests before giving way to a serenely stripped-down motif. Rather than resorting to a predictable song structure, Druu substitutes the second verse with a dreamy breakdown, offering a short respite before circling back to the infectious hook of the track. The Radio Edit of "Sunsets" shaves less than a minute off the duration of the Original Mix and surrenders next-to-nothing in the process.

About Druu Druu (real name: Andrew Cheng) embodies the upbeat ethos evident in all of his music. Based in New York City, he studied accounting and music technology before going on to work as an accountant for a "big four" firm while spending all of his free time in the studio. Following stellar remixes of songs by artists such as Zedd and Alesso, 2017 was punctuated for Druu with the release of his five-track Break Loose E.P. Each song on the effort expressed a separate facet of Druu's floor-filling signature sound while still complementing one another as parts of an emphatic, cohesive whole. "Sunsets" is the latest single release from Druu.
