According to USAToday.com, 50 Cent debuted his new single 9 Shots at a Capitol Records party in New York. The song is the second single from his long-awaited upcoming album, Street King Immortal, following first single Get Low that was released this June.

9 Shots will also be featured in Saturday's season finale of Power, the 50 Cent-produced drama on Starz.

The rapper told the crowd yesterday that the song's title represents the "nine painful moments" he has endured in his life. The song recollects the infamous 2000 shooting that became an important part of the rapper's narrative, where 50 survived nine gunshot wounds, including one to the face.

A release date for Street King Immortal is still unannounced, but the rapper told fans earlier this summer they could expect an album release in September.
