Kids'/Family Powerhouse Band Josh & the Jamtones Coming to Natick This October
By: Caryn Robbins
The ultra-powered, wildly eclectic musical explosion known as Josh & the Jamtones will bring their infectiously energetic, all-ages dance party jam to The Center for the Arts in Natick (TCAN) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17.
Josh & the Jamtones' show is firmly rooted in ska, a perfect stylistic fit for kids with its high energy and frenetic pace. The band seamlessly blends other genres into their concerts, including reggae, punk, and New Orleans-style street music, to create a truly one-of-a-kind live sound. Add a healthy serving of absurdist, off-the-cuff banter from frontman Josh Shriber and drummer Pat Hanlin, and you have a recipe for pure family music goodness. Everything is interactive; this band has no problem engaging a crowd of kids regardless of age or attention span. Josh & the Jamtones has been making music and lots of laughs for kids and families since early 2012, crisscrossing the country, playing hundreds of shows and sharing the stage with massive bands like The Wiggles, Yo Gabba Gabba, and The Fresh Beat Band. The Jamtones have performed at loads of major festivals with mega-acts like the Dave Matthews Band, Hall & Oates, and The Roots.WHAT: An Ultra-Powered Family Dance Party Jam with Josh & the Jamtones WHEN: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015.
