Singer and actor JorDan Miller will present his latest one-man cabaret concert "The Broadway Leading Man" at The Arthur Newman Theatre on August 7th at 2 PM. The show will feature songs made famous by such legends as Howard Keel, John Raitt, Robert Goulet, and Mario Lanza, along with some Broadway history and stories from Miller's own theatrical career.
Born in Huntsville, Texas Mr. Miller began his vocal studies under Dr. Walter Foster of Sam Houston State University. He then earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts before moving to New York. Since then, he's lived and performed across the states starring in musicals such as Oklahoma, Anything Goes, and Annie Get Your Gun to name his favorites. Jordan has performed the role of "The Grinch" in The Old Globe's twelfth anniversary of Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas and performed in Las Vegas in The Tournament Of Kings at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino, as well as Jerry Springer: The Opera, at the Hollywood Theater at MGM Hotel and Casino.He returned to his classical singing studies in 2008, training with Metropolitan baritone Jason Stearns and currently with Dr. J. Craig Johnson of Point Loma University, and has since starred in operettas such as The Gondoliers at Lyric Opera San Diego and in 2010 was the principle classical singer for Holland America Cruise Lines' Showroom At Sea aboard the MS Statendam and the MS Prinsendam's Grand Voyage in 2011. He was the recipient of San Diego Critic Circle's Craig Noel Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his work in Bed And Sofa, at the Cygnet Theatre. He was most recently seen in Atlanta, GA in the world premier of a new musical entitled, Life In The Park, which is scheduled to tour Southern California this fall.
