Gatherers Premiere New Single THE FLOORBOARDS ARE BREATHING

New Jersey rock band Gatherers is thrilled to share their visceral new single "The Floorboards Are Breathing." The track, which was inspired by the 2007 documentary One Minute To Nine, can be streamed now exclusively on Billboard.

"'The Floorboards Are Breathing' was one of the earlier songs we began to play around with when we started writing this record. The lyrics and imagery came about one night after watching a documentary titled "Every fing Day of My Life"; a film that recounts the experiences of a mother and her sons after surviving years of horrifying domestic abuse," recalls Anthony Gesa. "I knew early on that I wanted to write lyrics from the perspective of the walls in their house. It was an effort to explore an idea that felt way more real and human albeit emotionally dreadful. It's one of the ugliest songs on the record, thematically speaking."

The band also recently announced that they would be performing at this year's BLED FEST in Howell, MI on May 26th, alongside Joyce Manor, Basement, Foxing, Norma Jean, Rozwell Kid, Slingshot Dakota, and more. For additional information, please visit: www.gatherersband.com

Gatherers is Matt Popowski, Adam Cichocki, Rich Weinberger, Anthony Gesa, and Rob Talalai. The band announced their signing to Equal Vision Records in March 2015, with the release of a bold new music video for " God Deluxe," from their sophomore full-length Quiet World.

With Quiet World, Gatherers has created a truly unparalleled emotional and cathartic experience, enveloping listeners into a captivating world of anger, intensity, and frustration. Quiet World is the follow up to their first EP, Postcards (2012), and their debut full-length, Caught Between a Rock and a Sad Place (2013), both under the band's original moniker of 'Gatherer.'

Quiet World was released on July 31, 2015, and marked the band's debut with Equal Vision Records. Gatherers finished working on new music at VuDu Studios with Mike Watts (The Dear Hunter, As Tall As Lions, Hopesfall, Tides of Man) last fall, and will be releasing a new record later this year.
