DOLLY! A PRIDE SHOW To Be Presented At Green Music Center And At San Francisco's Curran Theatre This June
The concerts will take place at the Curran Theatre and Green Music Center, featuring ensembles Aftershock and Cascade.
The renowned San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) will conclude its critically acclaimed Season 48 with two exuberant musical events celebrating community, individuality, and LGBTQ+ pride through unforgettable live performance.
These concerts will also mark the culmination of SFGMC CEO Christopher Verdugo's extraordinary decade-long tenure leading the organization with vision, passion, and transformative impact.
The season finale begins Saturday, May 30 with Shine On: An Ensemble Show, an electrifying evening spotlighting the Chorus' much-admired small ensembles, Homophonics and The Lollipop Guild, alongside special guest appearances by two highly praised West Coast ensembles: AAershock from the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles and Cascade from the Portland Gay Men's Chorus. The one-night-only event will showcase a dazzling range of musical styles — from pop and Broadway to gospel, soul and contemporary choral works — highlighting the intimacy, artistry, and camaraderie that define LGBTQ+ vocal performance at its finest. A highlight of the evening will surely be when the four ensembles take the stage together for some bold harmonies, fresh arrangements, and pure vocal fireworks.

The SFGMC celebration continues with Dolly! A Pride Show, a spirited musical tribute to beloved American icon Dolly Parton, with performances on June 6 at the Green Music Center and June 13 at San Francisco's Curran Theatre. Overflowing with heart, humor, rhinestones, and country soul, the production honors Parton's enduring legacy as a champion of compassion, individuality, and acceptance. Audiences can expect soaring choral arrangements of her greatest hits (“9 to 5,” “Here You Come Again,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Why'd You Come in Here Looking Like That” and “Jolene” among others), alongside joyful storytelling, camp and Pride-inspired theatrical flair.

For nearly five decades, the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus has stood at the forefront of LGBTQ+ cultural advocacy through music, inspiring audiences around the world with performances that entertain, educate, and uplift. The closing programs of Season 48 continue that legacy while bringing together artists and audiences in celebration of Pride Month and the transformative power of live performance.
Founded in 1978, the Chorus made history as the world's first openly gay chorus and remains one of the most recognized and influential LGBTQ+ arts organizations internationally. Through concerts, tours, recordings, and educational outreach, SFGMC continues to champion equality and community through the universal language of music.
