Chicago's Blues/Soul/Rockabilly Band THE CLAUDETTES Unveil Exclusive Live In Studio Video for '24/5'

Described by "New City" as "Chicago's own neo-vaudeville Barnstormers!", The Claudettes fuse Chicago piano blues with the full-throttle energy of rockabilly and punk and the sultriness of '60s soul. Featuring Johnny Iguana, who mashes the piano, alongside singer Berit Ulseth, bassist/singer Zach Verdoorn, and drummer Matt Torre, the band just recorded their forthcoming album with producer Mark Neill (Black Keys, Paladins, Old 97's), which is scheduled for release in March 2018. Prior to the release, The Claudettes are proud to unveil three exclusive in studio videos for new songs that will not be on the forthcoming album. The first of the videos is for the song "24/5".
Iguana, who has toured for years with his cult-favorite rock band oh my god, is a member of the Grammy-nominated groups Chicago Blues--A Living History, and the Muddy Waters 100 Band, in addition to touring/recording with Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, among many others. says this about writing "24/5". "I was reading an interview with one of the members of Moody Blues or Procol Harum, I can't remember which. He has a new album and has a song called "24/7," about how he loves his woman 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I had the distinct feeling that, poor thing, she could probably use a break...a couple of days off now and then away from his smothering love. So I wrote '24/5'. The song begins with a taste of bubbly '60s champagne music on the piano".
Here's the video for "24/5":
After two mostly instrumental albums on Yellow Dog Records, 2013's debut album, "Infernal Piano Plot...HATCHED!" and 2015's "No Hotel", Johnny re-formed The Claudettes with Berit, Matt and Zach in early 2016.
"Downbeat's" Frank Hadley raved about "Infernal Piano Plot...HATCHED!" and wrote, "Hits listeners upside the head with a mash-up of Otis Spann blues, Albert Ammons boogie-woogie, Ray Charles soul and 'Fess' Longhair New Orleans R&B. Catch them in a chaotic ballroom!" Greg Kot from the "Chicago Tribune" reviewed "No Hotel", and called it "A revelatory blend of jazz and blues, stirred with punk brio. There are also dashes of classical and world music, and enough stops, starts and hairpin turns to suggest the giddiness of Raymond Scott's cartoon music..." Earlier this year, the band released an EP, "Pull Closer To Me: Live in the Piano Room".
