Our Head, the debut EP from Brooklyn six-piece Arthur Moon, is now available in full via Velvet Elk Records. Our Head can be streamed via Spotify and purchased via iTunes, Bandcamp, and Velvet Elk. The band, led by Lora-Faye Ashuvud, will also be playing a hometown release show at Rough Trade NYC on March 28. The recently released video for album opener "Room" is a peek into the world of Arthur Moon - dramatic, graceful, chaotically composed. WATCH "ROOM" HERE

Early previews of the "intoxicating" record were met with much acclaim from publications like NOWNESS, Noisey, and Stereogum. The Velvet Elk Records release includes her icy, climactic cover of The Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Some of the tracks joyfully disorient a listener, inverting the rules of pop composition (see "Boxing" and "Bold Affair"). Others explore the way this disorientation inflects our relationships (see "Room") and political systems ("Wind Up").

Arthur Moon is the moniker of composer/singer Lora-Faye Åshuvud, whose unconventional, polymathic approach to composition evokes the idiosyncratic ethos of bands like Radiohead and tUnE-yArDs. Åshuvud writes her lyrics using cut-up newspaper and magazine articles, and describes the process of composing the music as similarly collage-like. "On the best days," she said in a recent interview with LPR, "it feels kind of like playing a rousing game of Exquisite Corpse - except only with myself."
