Agoria Remixes The Disco Evangelists DE NIRO to Celebrate Positiva Record's 25th Birthday
Positiva Records have released the Agoria rework of the timeless anthem 'De Niro', by the Disco Evangelists, in honour of the iconic dance label's 25 year anniversary this year.One of the most influential figures in French electronic music, Agoria, has cemented a reputation between the French music, fashion, and film worlds, earning the same credibility as his fellow natives,Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk, and Justice. A prolific producer and DJ since 1999, who has received supported from BBC Radio 1's Pete Tong, and B.Traits. 'De Niro' was the second ever single to be released on Positiva in 1993, and instantly became one of the biggest records of the 90s dance era thanks to the cleverly crafted production talents of Ashley Beedle, David Holmes and Lyndsay Edwards (aka The Disco Evangelists). The Agoria remix brings fresh synth flutters and chimed bells to the piece, to create a progressive after-hours floorfiller. With dance legend and tastemaker Pete Tong already supporting the track on his BBC Radio 1 show, the release of 'De Niro' has received further support from a wealth of the biggest names in the electronic music industry, including Above & Beyond, Dennis Ferrer, Richie Hawtin, Damian Lazarus, John Digweed and Sasha so far. With 2018 marking a quarter of a century of the label being at the summit of the dance industry, the release of 'De Niro' coincides with Positiva Records A&R director Jason Ellis' appearance atInternational Music Summit (IMS) where he'll be speaking about the label's success during a panel hosted by Pete Tong. Following up the release of Agoria's remix, the label will spend the remainder of 2018 showcasing their back-catalogue with a series of one-off parties and special releases from both the present day and yesteryear with Positiva also hosting a virtual exhibition, giving fans the opportunity to delve deeper into the rich history of the label via the Shazam code below.
