THE MIKADO PROJECT, a feature film about Asian Americans who decide to do the first All API Mikado, will make it's NY Debut on Tues. July 20,2010 at 8:45 pm in New York City as part of the Asian American International Film Festival.

The film, which was adapted for the screen by Erin Quill, Chil Kong, & Ryun Yu and directed by Mr. Kong, from a play of the same name, made it's Los Angeles premiere in May at the LAAPI Film Festival.

The story revolves around a struggling Asian American Theater Company, Angry Buddha,who has lost their 'lead' to a television show. With nowhere to turn, and the NEA
on it's way to judge their grant situation for the upcoming season, the Artistic Director decides to take on a project that has never been done - The Mikado starring Asian Americans.

What ensues is a stagedoor comedy with a modern twist, pulling it's cast from movies, television, Broadway, and MTV.

Lee (B'way Mamma Mia, Ghost Town), Yuri Tag (MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, Season 1, Kabba Modern)
