Chef Amy Sins of Langlois, local chefs and restaurant team members have come together yet again with the ingredients, expertise and manpower necessary to prepare thousands of meals. These meals will be distributed to Florence impacted communities as they rebuild their homes and lives.

The cooking event will begin at 8:00 a.m. September 19, 2018 and conclude approximately 4:00 p.m. Local restaurant teams will begin arriving at 8 a.m. and will work throughout the day.

"We're thrilled to see the immediate and overwhelming offers of support," Sins said. "Every storm and disaster is different and the impact from this storm is staggering. Louisiana is familiar with the challenges of flooding and we wanted to offer our support"

Team members from Langlois, Cochon, Appoline, The Joint, Coquette, Hole Mole Tacos, GW Fins, The Southern Food and Beverage Museum and the Dickie Brennan's Family of restaurants will join chefs from around New Orleans to produce thousands of hot meals - prepping the meats, preparing sides and sauces, and bagging, boxing sorting and organizing to get them ready for delivery in the Carolinas.

"We know our team can't do this until everyone is recovered, so we want to partner with an organization who can continue to make a difference in the months and years to come," Chef Sins said. "Second Harvest Food Bank is that organization."

"We're honored to once again be able to offer our 8,500 square-foot kitchen to help those in need," said Susan Goss, Director of Second Harvest Food Bank's Community Kitchen. "So many times others from around the country have helped Louisiana in our time of need, and we're grateful to be able to return the favor."

Note: Chef Amy Sins of Langlois and Susan Goss of Second Harvest Food Bank will be available for interviews.
