On Monday, October 15th the 12th Annual Taste of Elizabeth, will be showcasing its diverse desiccant aromas and rich savoring flavors of more than 40 restaurants, bakeries and beverage vendors. Their selections will all be available to the public from 5PM to 8:30PM at the Renaissance Hotel, 1000 Spring Street, Elizabeth for one low price of $40.

With restaurants that feature menus from across the world, Elizabeth is a destination for foodies of all types. Its local dining venues not only provide great ethnic cuisine, they offer fantastic cultural experiences.

The Rotary Club of Elizabeth organizes the amazing event and are proud to feature a unique food-tasting event where they gather under one roof, the lively, multi-cultural community representing Elizabeth's diverse culinary choices!

Explained Doug Harris, member of the Taste of Elizabeth committee, "Each year, the Taste combines the Greater Elizabeth area's newest and most exciting restaurants, together with many popular traditional eateries. To have so many tempting selections all in one location, on one night, is truly outstanding." He added, "The best part is the fact that all profits from the event are given to area charities selected by the Rotary Club of Elizabeth."

A record number of new restaurants and food vendors have joined this year's event, including Chevy's Fresh Mex, Linden; Italian Products USA, Inc., Elizabeth; La Tostano, Elizabeth; La Vecindad, Elizabeth; Michelino's Restaurant and Pizzeria, Elizabeth; Sonic Drive-In, Elizabeth; and Ursino Steakhouse, Union.

These new participants join the following returning vendors: BarCode, Bayway Liquors, CATB Liquor Imports, Charles Jacquin Cie, Inc., Come Grow With Us Gardens, Climax Brewing Co, Thomas A. Edison Academy Culinary Arts School, Elizabeth High School Interact Club Sorbet Table, First Republic Restaurant and Lounge, Food Bazaar, Gallo Wine Sales of NJ, Garcia's Liquor Depot, Garden Restaurant, IKEA Restaurant, Leno's Bar and Grill, Liberty Hall Museum, Nicastro Gourmet Sauces, Noodlefan, Parador Rojo, Pied Piper Liquors, Pinho Bakery, Red Knot at Galloping Hill, Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel, Rio Rodizio, Senor Sangria, ShopRite of Clark, Tequila Bistro, Torna a Sorrento, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Tropicana Diner and Bakery, Tumi International Restaurant, Valenca Restaurant, and Warinanco Sports Center.

The event also features the largest ever "Taste of Elizabeth Tricky Tray," with close to 50 items to bid on, including dinners for two, tickets for Paper Mill Playhouse, NJPAC and other venues, golf foursomes, baskets of cheer, chocolates, wine...the list goes on and on.
