In honor of National Cherry Month this February, Oregon Fruit Products is showing consumers how to make a whole meal out of its canned cherrieS. Boasting three distinct flavors ranging from sweet to tart, there's a cherry to suit any kind of dish at any course of a meal, any time of year.

"Oregon Fruit Products cherries are canned soon after picking, making them a kitchen cupboard staple that is fresh-tasting and versatile for everything from cocktails to salads to main dishes," says Chris Sarles, CEO of Oregon Fruit Products. "We encourage all cherry lovers to 'think outside the pie' for National Cherry Month and discover new and unique ways to use them."

To that end, Oregon Fruit has released some new recipes that make cherries the focal point of an entire meal:

Oregon Fruit Products offers three varieties of canned cherries, all canned within hours of picking: Dark Sweet, Royal Anne and Red Tart. The red tart "Montmorency" cherry has become particularly popular for its healthful anthocyanins: deep-colored pigments that are responsible for the cherry's crimson color. Grown in Michigan, Montmorency cherries boast a multitude of anti-inflammatory benefits - from decreasing muscle soreness, to combating gout, to helping with insomnia. Oregon Fruit Products Red Tart Cherries contain no added sugar, so they are perfect for adding to dishes and drinks that balance richness with the cherries' bright acidity.

All of Oregon Fruit Product's are Non-GMO Project Verified, packaged in cans without a Bisphenol A (BPA) lining, and made without high fructose corn syrup. They are available at most grocers nationwide.
