The National Comedy Theatre (NCT) announces that they are opening the National Comedy Theatre Training Center at NTC's Liberty Station in Point Loma. At this new location will allow them to have more improv classes for adults, teens and kids!

The National Comedy Theatre improv classes are an exciting and fun and teach skills that can be applied to anyone and everyone. Improv classes are a great way for people to get more comfortable speaking in front of people, making presentations, or see what it's like to perform in front of a live audience. With the extra space at Liberty Station, NCT will also offer new improv classes for kids and teens at the NCT Training Center. The new location will open in late February at Liberty Station.

"The addition of the new 800 square foot facility will offer additional classes and rehearsal space for current and future performers," says Gary Kramer, artistic director, National Comedy Theatre. "The new space has also given us the opportunity to start a new workshop for improv artists of all levels to practice or discover their passion for comedy."

NCT workshop teachers have been featured in commercials, film and on television, as well as performed in theaters across the country and around the world. There are four progressive levels of workshops for adults (ages 18 and up) and each level builds upon the lessons of previous sessions. Class sizes are limited.

Registration is now open for Adult Level 1, 2 and 3 workshops that begin the week of Feb. 25, 2013. The six-week semesters are just $199 per person (ages 18 and up). For complete descriptions, call 619-295-4999 or email workshops@nationalcomedy.com.

Kids classes start February 23, and classes will run every Saturday for six weeks and will finish with a performance on the last day. Classes are just $125 for the six-week session and kids eight to 12-years old will meet from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. while teens, ages 13 to 17, will meet from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. More information for the new workshops can be found at www.nationalcomedy.com/kidsandteens.html.
