Zola Books has closed an exclusive deal with Autography to fulfill electronic books signed using Autography's patent-pending method for personalizing ebooks. The deal gives authors a proven method for delivering individualized autographs, and it grants readers a new way to collect authenticated autographs and inscriptions inside favorite ebooks.

"I truly believe that signed ebooks are the wave of the future - readers love Autography and its ability to allow me to sign books especially for them, to wish a friend 'Happy Birthday,' or give a special greeting to a fan," said Eloisa James, who recently autographed ebook editions of "The Ugly Dutchess" at Romantic Times' RT Book Lovers Convention in New Orleans.

To launch the partnership, Zola Books and Autography are co-hosting an ebook signing at this year's inaugural BookCon, an event for readers during BookExpo America, the publishers' annual trade show. The free ebook signing will take place on May 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in booth number 2763 on the BookCon show floor at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

New York Times bestselling authors include Barbara Taylor Bradford signing "Cavendon Hall," Linda Fairstein signing "Death Angel," Jonathan Maberry signing "Rot & Ruin," M.J. Rose signing "Lip Service," Jodi Ellen Malpas signing "This Man," Heather Graham signing "Waking the Dead," Julie Kagawa signing "The Forever Song," and R.L. Stine signing "Creature Teacher: The Final Exam" from the Goosebumps Most Wanted series, plus Morgan Matson signing "Since You've Been Gone," and Emmi Itaranta signing her U.S. debut book "Memory of Water."

BookCon attendees will have the option of taking their photo with the author, who signs a customized digital page that gets inserted into the reader's book. To retrieve the personalized book, attendees register with Zola Books, where they can download the ebook.

"Zola's mission is to use technology to bring readers and writers closer together," said Joe Regal, Zola CEO. "We are excited to offer our customers signed books through Autography, because it's truly personal - not just a stamp of a signature, but a real inscription - and truly global. Authors can sign books for any reader anywhere, whether on tour in an independent bookstore, or from the comfort of their own home over their morning coffee."

"By partnering with Zola Books, Autography is significantly expanding authors' access to this unique method of personalizing digital autographs at live events and for online promotions," said Garry Martin, chief marketing officer and managing partner at Autography.

Last week, authors signed over 600 ebooks at Romantic Times conference using the Autography/Zola Books platform, which also works for online events, enabling authors, agents, and publishers to provide readers with a customized book-signing experience anywhere.
