Writers from the Southern Oregon Coast Unite to Share Their Experiences Unsolicited Press, a small publisher based out of Portland releases Songs from the Southern Oregon Coast, a collaborative collection comprising works from fifty-seven writers living on the southern coast of Oregon. With each poem and story, layers of history, culture, and inspiration reveal themselves. From the pristine natural settings to the vibrant town atmospheres, the region comes to life in this collection.

Gary Carter was born in San Diego, California in 1938 and graduated National City High School in 1956. After serving three years in the United States Marine Corps he attended college as a science major at Grossmont Community College and San Diego State as a botany major. His poems have appeared in newspapers, magazines and books. Gary is the author of three novels, two books of poetry and several short stories plus numerous gardening articles. He lives in Port Orford, Oregon, along the southern Oregon coast in Port Orford, a small fishing and farming village. He is the father of four, the grandfather of 12 and the great grandfather of 14.
