NOVATO, Calif., June 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ Investment Atlas II, Using History as a Financial Tool was given the Bronze Medal in the competitive "Finance/Investment/Economics" category. An artistic and colorful reference book that offers useful information about the performance and characteristics of stocks, bonds, commodities, and real estate since the 1800s. Using much of his proprietary research, Winans examines past bull and bear markets within the various investment groups to show how they differ as well as the tools investors can use to navigate the changes in long-term trends.

Created in 1996, the "IPPY" is considered one of the highest honors for books and has been compared to the Pulitzer Prize or the National Book honors in status. 1 In 2017, there were over 5,000 book entries from 29 countries. The IPPY medal ceremony was held in New York City on May 30.

"It's an honor to be given the same medal that renowned economist, Dr. Robert Shiller received in 2009. With stocks, bonds, and housing at record highs, it seems like a good time to revalidate the importance of using financial history within the investment process." says Mr. Winans.

Investment Atlas II also took top honors in the 9 th International Book Contest. "This is the first book in our eight year history, with over 10,000 titles entered, to place as a winner in both the "Best Cover Design" and "Best Interior Design" wrote Jeffrey Keen, President & CEO of American Book Fest.

Unique in financial writing, Mr. Winans has documented "track records" as a market strategist and a portfolio manager. Since 2012, Winans Investments is among the "Best of Best" financial advisors invited to attend the Barron's Winner's Circle Top Independent Advisors Summit. 2
