Author Richard E. Buery reveals the ups and downs of his life, a legacy he wish to give his family in his new publication, "What If?" But this is no ordinary autobiography. The author also tells the story of St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church and how it was built.

The author was presented with a copy of a book written by Rev. J. Mastin Nisbett. It recorded the efforts sustained when building St. David's Episcopal Church of Cambria Heights. Considering that St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, went through the struggle of building, Mr. Euclid Jordon approached the author with a copy of the same book, stating that someone should also record the struggles sustained while building their church.

This book is the story of how the author got to this place. He believes that in order to know where he is, he must know where he came from. He relates the highlights and aspects of his life which had bearings on the direction and influences which has brought him to his involvement with the building of St. Gabriel's Church. Buery stressed the essence of persistence and faith in any task that he undertook. Early involvement in the church and the strong desire to get things done, in spite of the difficulty, needs attention to details and the determination to follow it through the end.

Greatly inspiring, "What If?" will make readers realize that all endeavors are possible if they work diligently to achieve their goals. They will also be able to understand the small town way of life and similarities to those from any part of the world.
