Wayne Jasmin took great inspiration from his mother. Lucy James, the author of "Mystery Mountain," made Jasmin want to follow in her footsteps and publish a book of his own. "Chess Moves On Old News: Part 1" (published by AuthorHouse) mirrors the moves of Jasmin's mental rook, jumping around on his old beliefs and changing them through poetry.
"The book focuses on human situations in many of the verses and hones in on the realities we all face at sometime, realities of relationship break ups, sleeplessness, mental distress and situations we sometimes find ourselves in that allows us time to take in the world around us," explains Jasmin.
The mental health nurse has had much experience in dealing with the psychological make-up of a person. Jasmin uses poetry to cover a wide range of topics, dissecting them, breaking them apart. The poem, "Misused Mankind," reminds readers that the world is sometimes harsh in its unfairness, and "Field Day," finds enjoyment in everyday situations.
His goal is to make readers "rethink their current views and see life from the perspective of alternate ways of interpreting situations."

About the Author
Wayne Jasmin started writing poetry after his mother, author Lucy James, inspired him. Some of his friends were interested in having parts of their lives put into verse. It enabled them to see through their self imposed blindness of ongoing painful situations. Over the years, the author has benefitted from wide ranging friendships from varied backgrounds and used these experiences to shape his thinking.
