As bullying becomes an increasing problem in today's society, it can be difficult for children to embrace their uniqueness and recognize their true potential.

Award-winning writer and children's book author Laurel Lund is empowering youth to shine by embracing their inner "glow."

In her new children's book, When Glory Got Her Glow Back, Lund tells the story of a glowworm who lost her glow and set out on a mission to find it, only to discover that the power she was seeking was inside all along. As readers join the glowworm on her journey to self-discovery, they learn the importance of confidence, self-esteem, diversity, creativity and the magic of color beyond what the eye can see.

As a certified color and image consultant, Lund is knowledgeable on the physical, psychological and emotional aspects of color as well as the color frequencies associated with chakras, the body's energy centers. For parents interested in sharing this information with their young children, Lund's book can serve as a teaching tool to help them learn about the power of color in an easy-to-understand format.

Although the book discusses the meaning of colors, the story does not rely on that concept alone to tell the charming tale of a brave and determined glowworm.

"Glory is a classic tale for a new generation, reminding us that the power we search for is already within us," says best-selling author Lynn Bardowski. "The book shares an important message that every child needs to hear-when we connect with our 'glow,' our true self, we become empowered, strong and confident."

Ideal reading for grades K through 5, as well as for the child in all of us, Glory's tale of self-discovery combines adventure and the magic of color with important life lessons for little ones.

"It's my goal to help children learn just how extraordinary they are," says Lund. "I want them to know that, like Glory, we are all meant to shine."
