BREMERTON, Wash.

In her novel "Majestic Apartment Mystery" (published by iUniverse), author Veda Taylor Strong draws on her own experience as an apartment manager to craft a tale of murder, mobsters and more.

When Tom Donavan is woken in the night by a mysterious phone call, he discovers the body of one of his tenants. What follows is a mélange of car chases, bombing, murder attempts and hair-raising adventures as a cast of characters search for the murderer.

An excerpt from "Majestic Apartment Mystery"

"Going into the living room, she found her only friend lying on the floor in a pool of blood. While she held her head, Midge told Cynthia that her uncle Jack had beaten her because she would not tell her where she worked. He probably would have killed her but someone had knocked on the door and scared him away. Jumping up, she called for an ambulance."

Strong's "Majestic Apartment Mystery" will be featured at the 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair, taking place Oct. 8-12. The fair welcomes about 7,275 book exhibitors annually, with an attendance of more than 275,000 visitors yearly.
