In the new true crime book WITH ONE SHOT: FAMILY MURDER AND A SEARCH FOR JUSTICE, Dorothy Marcic writes about the crime that has haunted her since she was a teenager. Dorothy Marcic is also the author of the current Off-Broadway musical hits SISTAS, the longest African American musical in New York history, and THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS, recently extended due to popular demand. WITH ONE SHOT will be released today, March 27th by Citadel / Kensington Press.

WITH ONE SHOT resulted from the 1970 murder of Dorothy Marcic's uncle Vernie in Oregon, Wisconsin. Vernie's wife Suzanne confessed to the murder but many of the facts didn't add up. She pled insanity and spent only 11 months in a mental hospital, never spending a day in prison. In this explosive new book, Dorothy hopes to set the record straight and find justice for the murder that's affected her family for decades.

Dr. Dorothy Marcic is a playwright whose productions have played in over 70 U.S. cities. She is an adjunct professor at Columbia University and a former professor at Vanderbilt University. She was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Economics-Prague, has three masters and a doctorate, and is the author of 15 books including the bestsellers UNDERSTANDING MANAGEMENT and RESPECT: WOMEN AND POPULAR MUSIC (the genesis for THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS). Dorothy has appeared on C-SPAN, CMT and Bravo.
