George Potts is an unremarkable, middle-aged accountant for the city council who lives a predictable, humdrum existence...until an unsettling encounter with a vivacious young woman and her dog changes his life forever.

George loves dogs, indeed all animals, but he never thought he'd become one...

When George woke up as a greyhound he was, to put it mildly, somewhat surprised. He readily conceded that, as a man, he had always liked animals - particularly dogs - but he never imagined that he would actually become one. What had happened?
It was the whisky, he surmised. He had sat down on the park bench as a forlorn, depressed, middle-aged man determined to drown his sorrows; to forget his unfaithful wife; to drift off into a comatose state and hopefully wake up in a parallel universe free from all troubles.
Clearly the Great Dog in Heaven had heard his prayers and granted him his liberation.
And now? He sniffed the air. What a myriad of olfactory sensations assaulted his brain! More colour and variety from that nearby tree alone than a child could gather staring in a sweet-shop window.
He took a quick run. What acceleration - faster out of the blocks than a Ferrari. He looked at his physique: Slim, muscular, no hint of a middle-aged paunch and a long elastic frame that could move quicker than any other quadruped on the planet bar an African cheetah.
George trotted off to examine what moved in this park that he had wandered across so many times in the past. Now it looked, smelt and felt so very different. And just look at all those dogs: the majority of them bitches! Wow! The sexual possibilities of his life had suddenly multiplied. A dog's life wasn't so bad after all.
