Author Steve Altier takes young readers on a whimsical adventure filled with facts and trivia about Italy and its history in his educational, wholesome new children's book, "Gabby and Maddox Adventure's in Italy!" (published by AuthorHouse).

The fun begins when Gabby and her brother, Maddox, set out on a trip to Italy. When they arrive, their imaginations take them all the way back to ancient Rome.

Readers are invited to join the siblings as they enjoy Roman chariot races and visit the famous coliseum where great gladiator battles were fought. Gabby and Maddox also take time to visit the Sistine Chapel to see Michelangelo's famous artwork.

The duo's journey also includes stops in Pisa, where they visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and a final stop in Venice, the city entirely built on the water. Along the way, the children learn important lessons about bullying and good sportsmanship.

An excerpt from "Gabby and Maddox Adventure's in Italy!":

"Maddox walked out onto the arena floor to the roar of cheers coming from the crowd. The stands were filled with over seventy thousand Romans. They were chanting, 'Maddox! Maddox! Maddox!'

Maddox looked around, just then he saw another gladiator enter the arena to a roar of loud boos. Maddox could see that it was Butch, the bully from his school back home. All the kids called him Mad Dog. 'Oh no, he's not supposed to be here, this can't be happening,' Maddox thought!"
