'Roxy Raindrop' Is Set for New Marketing Campaign One rainy afternoon, while Wendy Bossert watches the rain splash against the window, run down haphazardly then regroup from stream to stream, she wonders what the raindrops would say if they could just speak. This thought inspired her to write "Roxy Raindrop" (published by Partridge Africa on November of 2014), a story about a raindrop and her first adventures and misadventures on earth.

Set for a new marketing campaign, the book is about Roxy, the little raindrop who is about to leave the clouds and go on her first trip to earth but does not know what to expect as she prepares to explore the world unknown. What are the things that Roxy will discover in her earthly adventures?

"The book is something that we all have seen and know but will give another dimension on how we perceive it," Bossert says. "Added to this, it will teach children about the value of water."

A passage from "Roxy Raindrop":

"How horrible" said Roxy. "I do not want to be used like that. I want to enjoy my life. How can I escape from this pool?" she asked Anna.

About the Author
Wendy Bossert was born in Molteno, a little town in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. She has always had a vivid imagination, and while at school, she enjoyed writing compositions and was always delighted when hers were chosen to be read out. It was always her desire to write a book, but having had a very full life, she kept putting it off. It is almost time to retire now from her career, so she thought it might be a good idea to start a new one in her retirement and try and publish some of the stories that she has written over the years for her grandchildren.
