Real estate attorney, founder, lawyer, marketing officer, and productivity coach Jane Bolin has released her new book, Mastering the Business of Your Association, a game-changing look at the how and why of community association boards.

Based on a decade of experience working as a legal consultant for association boards, Mastering the Business of Your Association explores the question, "How can you put together a group of intelligent, skilled people, who are typically successful in other areas of their personal lives, and get such poor results?"

The answer, Bolin says, is in how the board views their association. In her book, Bolin asks readers to open themselves to a new way of thinking as she presents a compelling case for changing the way association boards are run. In fact, she claims they should be run like a business.

Full of real-life examples and actionable information, Mastering the Business of Your Association presents a fresh perspective on what it means to be an effective, engaged member of an association board and how and why members should start running themselves like a business.

It's the conversation every association board member, attorney, vendor, and manager needs to join.

"My goal in writing this book is to spark a much overdue conversation in the industry that will change the way community association boards are run and what it means to be a board member or manager. Mastering the Business of Your Association distinguishes what has been missing and offers associations and their boards an opportunity to transform," says Bolin.

The founder of a property management company and a licensed CAM, Jane Bolin co-founded PeytonBolin, a Florida-based, full-service real estate law firm focused on the practice of community association law, in 2008. Bolin is also Area Director for the South region of the Entrepreneurs' Organization, was named to the South Florida Business Journal's 40 Under 40, is heavily involved in community charities, and serves as a productivity coach for Townsend Consulting Group. Her practice works with hundreds of associations, is an Inc. 5000 company, and has been repeatedly awarded the Reader's Choice Award from the Florida Community Association Journal.
