Would you like to be part of a massively successful cookbook series? Editors Gwen McKee and Barbara Moseley of Quail Ridge Press are searching the state of Louisiana for cookbooks to be included in a brand-new edition of their bestselling Best of the Best from Louisiana Cookbook.

The first edition is one of Quail Ridge Press' most popular cookbooks. The original Best of the Best from Louisiana Cookbook was published in 1984 as part of Quail Ridge Press' acclaimed Best of the Best State Cookbook Series, and with its massive success, has gone through a whopping twenty-four printings. A second edition, Best of the Best from Louisiana II, published in 1998, is in its ninth printing, and is also among QRP's most popular cookbooks.

This Best of the Best State Cookbook Series has over 3 million copies in print and is considered definitive. Known as the Cookbook Ladies, McKee and Moseley began their quest to find the absolute best recipes from locally published cookbooks in each state in 1982, beginning with Mississippi and then moving on to McKee's home state of Louisiana. This particular venture was especially exciting for McKee, as their exploration of Cajun and Creole culinary heritage brought back many fond memories from her childhood. To this day, the Best of the Best from Louisiana Cookbook remains the best-selling book in their entire 50-state cookbook series.

The third edition of the Best of the Best from Louisiana Cookbook will be produced in full color, with photography of not only many of the fantastic recipes, but also of places, and people of interest all over Louisiana. The book will convey the uniqueness of Louisiana, its history, a listing of top events and attractions, plus recipes that showcase the unmatchable cuisine of the state.

For this edition, the editors are reviewing cookbooks from publishers as well as cookbooks that have been produced by community clubs, churches, restaurants, and individuals. Each Louisiana cookbook selected for inclusion will be asked to contribute a sampling of their most popular recipes. Anyone wishing to recommend or submit a cookbook for review can do so by sending a copy of their cookbook to Quail Ridge Press, P.O. Box 123, Brandon, MS 39043, or by calling Lacy Ward at 1-800-343-1583.
