Author Richard J. West says he never wanted to be a psychic. He tried for many years to ignore the voices he heard and the gentle prods he received from a higher place. In his new book, "The Reluctant Psychic" (published by AuthorHouse), West discusses his story of not only how he eventually came to terms with his abilities, but also how he put those abilities to good use as a healer, dowser and ghost-buster.

From case files both funny and poignant, West writes stories that are both informative and interesting, giving readers valuable insight into the work of a dowser and psychic operating with a foot planted firmly in two worlds.

"Forty percent of the world population believes more in psychic matters than the main religions," West says. "Every story and detail (in the book) is real. Nothing is an invention or fantasy."

West's many years of world travel and training in esoteric disciplines such as healing and psychic development gave rise to these true tales of his work in the realm of spirits.
