New Poetry Book Inspires Healing From Loss

QUEENSLAND, Australia

The eventful death of a husband after 63 years of marriage and friendship inspired author Dorothea Fleming to put her thoughts into writing. Devastated, she sought escape and therapy in the consoling verse of poetry. Three months later, she releases her first poetry anthology "A Journey Through Poetry" (published by Xlibris AU) to encourage others like her to overcome the overwhelming affliction of loss.

"This book is a collection of poems that I have written to the memory and mood of a day," says Fleming. "The poems are simply statements of my thoughts at that time of writing them, and I would love to share them with others. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing my poetry, and as I feel it has been given to me as a wondrous gift from God, I feel I have to share it with others."

From the eventual shattering of love falling in death to the soul's suffering in its attempt to break from the bondage of agony, Fleming's collection of poems is a poignant testimony that healing is indeed, a painful process; yet, a necessary sacrifice if one wants to achieve renewed spirits and total acceptance. Her poems are written in simple language and caress various themes as love, relationships and life. Moreover, it exalts a reassurance that a positive end awaits those who have faith in God.
