New Novel Depicts the Difficulty in Balancing Family and Career In "Arrive by Dusk," author Gabrielle F. Culmer introduced readers to artist Mindy Croixe-a 34-year-old widow who had immersed herself in a painting career after the death of her husband. Thanks to a job promotion, Mindy was whisked away to the Mediterranean where she ran into an old friend, Blaine O'Neill.

As their connection grew, so did Mindy's conflict. Would venturing into a new relationship serve as an act of betrayal to her late husband? Culmer continues to explore Mindy's complicated love life in "Where Lives Lead."

Mindy and Blaine are now blissfully married in "Where Lives Lead," but their paths are about to diverge. The couple is tested when Blaine decides to expand his empire on the West Coast, while Mindy is left yearning to start their family and a design school in the East.

They agree to a bicoastal arrangement, allowing each to pursue their own passions. The pair battle hectic schedules, all while trying to find balance in their partnership and professional careers. A narrative intertwining love and sacrifice, "Where Lives Lead" is a poignant novel that highlights the significance of family and professional goals.

"Where Lives Lead walks that line between chasing your dreams, and sacrificing for those you love," Culmer said. "These characters are complex individuals who know family life is important, but personal freedom is also needed. They rely on each other, but at the same time, they both require individual space to explore personal wants and needs."
