New middle-grade novel, Marshmallows over Manhattan, takes young readers to the Kingdom of Menlo filled with excitement and surprise.

Hugo Doppel finds an old subway token stuck in a sidewalk crack. He makes a wish to explore lands far away from arch-nemisis Bobby Baskerfish and The Great Beacon Academy, where Hugo has become the school's laughingstock.

Snow begins falling and Times Square stands still. Everyone vanishes. Doppel Station appears and Hugo begins his adventure. At the Junkyard of Goofy Inventions, he discovers his wacky weather machine (the same invention that went berserk during his Mad Science project).

Will the insanely brilliant invention, with a little magic, rescue the Box Island prisoners held captive by a vengeful witch? Can it stop the Colossal Cockroaches and the Wicked Bats? Will it save New Yorkers pummeled by a walloping blizzard? And will Hugo finally achieve his dream of becoming a famous inventor?

An intriguing blend of what has made so many children's books classics, Marshmallows over Manhattan, is great for ages 9 and up.

The 185-page book is published by Mill City Press, and is available online via Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Paperback cost is $8.99 and the Kindle version is $7.99.
