New Book Charts Tale of Unlikely Hero who Saves his Planet from Peril Neil E. Fisher returns to the publishing scene with the release of "Guardians of the Shard" (published by Archway Publishing), a novel charting the tale of an unlikely hero who must overcome his personal adversity while trying to save the world. Readers can learn more about this new young adult fiction at https://www.amazon.ca/Guardians-Shard-Journey-Neil-Fisher/dp/148085865X.

Against the backdrop of increasing political greed and alien influence, the challenges of being a temple outcast and the rising threat of an ancient and forgotten evil, young Thon must make a desperate choice. Does he become a hero to his people or does he surrender to the challenges thrown his way? Will he bring doom or salvation?

Offering a fresh spin on the sci-fi genre, "Guardians of the Shard" takes readers to an alien world called Sardentia along with unique characters that make the book an exciting and compelling read.

More importantly, the book deals with the issue of recognizing and appreciating the differences between people of diverse backgrounds and outlooks. It provides an example of how even young students can pool their resources and abilities together to solve a problem instead of letting their social, political or economic experiences divide them.

"I would hope my readers, especially the younger ones, come away from Guardians of the Shard being greatly entertained as well as having an appreciation for overcoming the challenges they face in order to better understand the people around them and doing their part to make the world a better place," Fisher shares.
