"New World Order" has become a clichéd catch-all of "conspiracy theory" in this generation, only rivaled by the word "Illuminati" to describe a nefarious plot to rule the world.? Yet when President George H.W. Bush and statesman Henry Kissinger use the same term, it begs the question - what does the "New World Order" mean exactly?

In Sean Stone's deeply referenced opus, the answer is obvious. Over the past two centuries, since America ostensibly wrested its freedom from the British Empire, elements both in England and on our home soil have plotted to correct that aberration of national independence.

The New World Order, as a strategy of empire, seeks to up-root the seeds of nationalism, in favor of legal and financial international controls.? The plan works along the protocols of the British Commonwealth, extending the influence of centralized finance and government, via both hard and soft power, to the outskirts of a new Anglo-American empire.

While studying at Princeton, Stone came across the writings of the enigmatic scholar, poet, and statesman William Yandell Elliott, informing the basis of his Senior Thesis, which has been adapted into this book, about the understated influence of British imperial politics on Elliott and his major protégés like Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, and Samuel P. Huntington.

W.Y. Elliott was a person generally unrecognized beyond Harvard University, until Niall Ferguson published his biography Kissinger: The Idealist, which cited Stone's Thesis for much of its reference to Elliott. Standing at the nexus of academia, politics, and international finance (namely via the Rockefellers), Elliott dispensed his advice to both Republicans and Democrats, serving six presidents, including stints on the National Security Council. He spent over forty years at Harvard as Professor Emeritus of history and government, becoming the Dean of Harvard Summer School and establishing the influential Harvard International Seminars.

A Rhodes scholar, Elliott was enamored with Anglo-American 'internationalism' as he called for mutual co-operation between countries under a federated system of international laws. Elliott's theories were not expounded in a vacuum, for they very much resonated with the political theory within the American establishment of the post-World War era, which often used the term "New World Order" to describe the agenda. Even Kissinger's 'balance of power' realpolitik can be understood through the lens of the New World Order's gradualist program.

Stone's exposition on the New World Order is sandwiched by a substantial foreword from Richard Grove, of TragedyandHope.com and a provocative afterword by Guido Preparata, author of Conjuring Hitler.
