Lissy O'Laughlin grew up on a farm in the rural suburbs of Queensland, Australia. She spent her youth riding horses and reading books as there were no other children within the vicinity to play with. As an adult she would often write short stories for her girlfriends, making them the hero of the story, in the hope that it would cheer them up and help mend a broken heart. She prefers to write novellas so that people can read them within a day.
