Joseph E. Hahn Releases 'Hitchhiking through Europe: During the Summer of 1956'

Joseph E. Hahn has completed his new book "Hitchhiking through Europe: During the Summer of 1956": an honest and detailed retelling of a young man who planned and executed a wonderful summer vacation.

Joseph was born in St. Louis, Missouri and attended Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri, where Winston Churchill gave his famous "Iron Curtain" speech in 1946. He has written several short stories, but never pursued writing. He has worked in public relations with banks in savings and loans and was an examiner for the state. Joseph worked as a right of way negotiator for Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) for twenty-eight years and owned and operated five laundromats. On his hitchhiking experience in 1956, he recorded his daily travels into shorthand books faithfully before bedtime. Upon his return home, he typed up all the experiences, but never did anything with the finished product. He titled the book "Hitchhiking through Europe during the Summer of 1956." He and his wife, Nubia, are retired. Joseph has been asked if he was going to have the account of his trip published. Thus, a simple diary written sixty years ago has reached book form.

This is his hitchhiking account of Europe.
