Author John E. Hinrichs takes his readers on a journey through time to have a glimpse and a better understanding of what it was like to serve as a marine during the Second World War in an engaging memoir that walks the readers through one of the most historic wars of the world. My Journey as a WWII Marine is an honest and brave narrative about the author's military expedition that highlights his experiences through war.

WWII was a pivotal event in Hinrichs' life and for him, he will forever live with his memories during that notable period. In My Journey as a WWII Marine, he wants to share the personal story of lived experiences as an enlisted Marine who very quickly continued his tour of duty in the leadership role as 2nd Lieutenant. This book is wittingly written to provide a glimpse of what it was like as a Marine to live through one of the most important wars of the country-and the world. During those times, he was assigned to a specialty area of service that required him and his men to be on the field of battle to provide those services in the Pacific.

"We had to be prepared to do anything that was needed, especially as we were taking small islands to put down the Japanese," the author revealed. Throughout My Journey as a WWII Marine, he will guide the readers to experience what it was like as a WWII Marine as seen through his eyes. It is not just a story of one marine, but a tale of a people in military service that are beacons of hope, courage and commitment-they are the ones who were and are willing to die for their country and their people.
