From 1987 to the present, author Janet Jaymes has written short stories and poetry about real-life events to give to friends and family for special occasions. She now releases these personal anecdotes and poems in her new compilation book, "Conversation Pieces" (published by AuthorHouse).

"Conversation Pieces" is organized similarly to a long-form diary. Jaymes says she intended these writings to be picked up and read "late at night, when the kids are put to bed, on a vacation at the beach or while traveling on business, to be entertained."

The content of Jaymes' new book is highly creative, emotional and true-to-life, causing the read to be just as emotional, Jaymes says. With each piece, Jaymes adds, her ultimate goal is to connect with her readers on emotionally honest, humorous and entertaining levels.
