SAN ANTONIO - Jack M. Wedam became interested in internet privacy when he realized that corporations have been using neuroscience and behavioral biometrics to trample on the general population's privacy and manipulate people for the sake of making money. He exposes these startling practices and more in his latest book, "Cunningly Smart Phones: Deceit, Manipulation, and Private Thoughts Revealed" (published by Xlibris).

At the start, neuroscience and behavioral biometrics were used by the government to identify and track potential terrorists. Today, these technologies are utilized by corporations for the purpose of analyzing, predicting and even manipulating consumer behavior.

"Internet privacy is much worse than you imagined," Wedam said. "If you were surprised about what Edward Snowden revealed about NSA spying, then you will be shocked when you learn how much corporations are spying on you. Corporations have learned how to manipulate you on an industrial level."

"Cunningly Smart Phones" contains many references including court documents, patents, official government documents and many other sources. All of these paint a picture of the deceptive and manipulative tactics of corporations. The information in this book is ultimately designed to help protect readers from various intrusions on their personal lives.

"You can do many things to protect yourself," the author said. "This book can do for Internet privacy what Ralph Nader's 'Unsafe at Any Speed' did for automobile safety."
