Not only are the HARRY POTTER books getting a cover design update, but now world-renowned author J.K. Rowling has announced via Pottermore an even better holiday surprise!

Starting Friday, December 12, Rowling's site will be releasing a festive surprise for every day at 1pm GMT (8am EST). All fans have to do is answer a rhyming riddle to unwrap each Pottermore Christmas gift.

And io9 writes that each present will be a short story, with one rumored to be centered around Draco Malfoy.

The HARRY POTTER novels have now sold approximately 450 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 74 languages. HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE was recently voted the nation's favorite children's book in a poll by reading charity Booktrust.

Rowling was the first children's author to be voted the BA Author of the Year, and also win the British Book Awards Author of the Year. J.K. Rowling, who has several films set in her wizarding universe in the queue, lives with her family in Edinburgh.
